Admissions
To enter career and technical programs, students must be aged 16 or older and withdrawn from the K-12 school system or approved for dual enrollment. No entrance exam is required to enroll in a career program. The Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) is the exit exam that must be passed for students to graduate from many career and technical education programs. Therefore, the TABE is administered to applicable students within six weeks of registration. Applied Academic classes are available to ensure student success.
All participants should possess a high school diploma. To improve employment opportunities, students that do not possess a high school diploma are encouraged to attend GED preparation classes to ensure they earn their high school equivalency diploma prior to entering the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. As a part of the admissions process, students desiring financial assistance will complete the Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA) at www.FAFSA.ED.GOV before receiving course admission slips from Finance. You will need Flagler Technical Institute's school code to complete the application, which is 041583. All students requesting financial aid must have a high school diploma or a GED.
