The Extended School Day Program was not designed to be a baby-sitting service. It was created to provide Flagler County children with greater opportunities to grow educationally, socially, emotionally and physically. For parents, it provides a school-based environment enabling them to fulfill their job responsibilities knowing their children's safety and welfare are satisfied before and after school and on a non-school days (Monday-Friday).

The Adult & Community Education Department will hire only the most qualified staff to work as Site Managers and Activity Leaders. All staff must be in good physical health and submit to fingerprinting and a local, state and national background check.
Site Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Extended School Day Program by coordinating activities for your child, developing a monthly plan using broad themes, developing weekly plans with specific activities, and maintaining daily rountines and schedules. The Site Managers supervise the Activity Leaders and are the parent contact at the school center. The Site Managers will see that adequate supplies, materials, equipment, and snacks are available for each program.
The Program Manager oversees the Extended School Day Program and communicates regularly with the Site Managers and the Adult & Community Education Coordinator. The Program Manager serves as a resource, visiting sites and assisting Site Managers with program development.
